David Dulberger began his career working with children as a Skills Educator for the Arc of Frederick County, Maryland. This led to a summer job as a Camp Counselor for kids with special needs at the YMCA of Frederick County, Maryland. After 4 years of working for the Kids Unlimited Camp in Frederick, Dulberger spent one summer away from home working as a Head Counselor at an outdoors camp in Durango, Colorado. It was at Colvig Silver Camp that Dulberger lived and camped with 8-10 year old Homestead campers. Throughout this summer Dulberger taught his campers outdoor educational practices such as Leave No Trace. During the summer of 2013 Dulberger worked as a Camp Director and planned the Frederick YMCA's first Outdoorsman Camp located at Thorpewood. Dulberger enjoyed summer camp as a child and feels that it is an essential part of any kid's childhood. He hopes to send his future children to a camp like Colvig Silver Camp where kids have the opportunity to build life-long friendships and learn how to survive in the wilderness responsibly. Below you will find website links, photos and more information about the camps that Dulberger has had experience with.
