During the even years the Apple Distinguished Educator program does not accept new applicants. Instead Apple Education focuses on nourishing the existing ADEs with professional learning experiences. ADEs can apply to attend the Global Institutes that occur during the even years. During the Spring of 2016 Dulberger did just that. Once again the application process was difficult and highly competitive. Dulberger's application video to the left highlights one year of accomplishments (2015-2016) including the role he played in Washington County's Digital Learning Plan approval. In March 2016, Dulberger eagerly accepted an invitation to the Apple Distinguished Educators Global Institute in Berlin, Germany. While over seas, Dulberger had the opportunity to connect with ADEs from Australia, China, Canada, Mexico, and more. He worked along side product managers for applications like Keynote and Garage Band. Although nothing will compare to his first ADE Institute in Miami, Dulberger's professional learning experience in Berlin was truly magical!

After attending the ADE Institute in Miami, Dulberger was tasked to complete the "One Best Thing" project. This project required Dulberger to choose one of his strongest pedagogical practices and create a resource for educators and students around the world to use. In November 2015 Dulberger published the Coding the Common Core multi-touch iBook on iTune University. The book includes a variety of curricular aligned coding lessons and activities for teachers and students to use. The idea of the book is to integrate coding and basic computer science instruction with curriculum and content rather than teach it in isolation. Dulberger's iBook has been downloaded, read, and shared by educators from all over the world. It is now featured in the Computer Science section of Apple Distinguished Educators' Books on iTunes.

In 2015 Dulberger applied for the Apple Distinguished Educator program. This program was designed in 1994 to recognize distinct educators who are using Apple technologies to transform learners. The application process is rigorous and competitive. Dulberger used his video editing abilities on iMovie and QuickTime to create his video portion of the application. Dulberger's friends were able to use Apple technologies to create, record, and produce the music. Dulberger was accepted into the program in April 2015 and eagerly attended the Apple Distinguished Institute in Miami, Florida a few months later. Dulberger described his first ADE Institute as "the most epic professional development experience on the planet."

Dulberger continued to develop iTunes University courses for iLearnMaryland Collection. He and another WCPS 5th Grade Teacher, Matt Tack, teamed up to author a digital writing course for educators. This has served as a professional development resource for teachers all over the world.
During the fall of 2013 (Dulberger's second year teaching) Dulberger was invited to be part of a small team of experienced educators from various schools throughout WCPS. This team of teachers, principals, lead teachers and supervisors were tasked to create iTunes University Courses aligned with the Common Core Curriculum. This initiative, known as iLearnMaryland, was sponsored by Apple Education. The course that David took part in developing with two other colleagues is known as Conflict and Collaboration in the Colonies. This course can be found on the App store or by clicking the link below.
