Individualized Student Goal Setting
At the beginning of each marking period students in Mr. Dulberger's class set individual goals for themselves based on these four disciplines: Reading, Writing, Math and Social/Activities. The students use Maps data, rubrics, benchmark assessments and Mr. Dulberger's anecdotal notes to develop goals that are fit to their educational needs. Students in Mr. Dulberger's class are encouraged to set goals that are challenging yet also attainable. Every other Friday they respond to a writing prompt that inspires a deep reflection on their goals for the current marking period. The reflection holds the students accountable to the action plan they have in place for attaining their goals by the end of the marking period. The students often post our reflections on their My Big Campus Blogs. See the video below to hear a student from Mr. Dulberger's class discuss the goal setting process.
